Make your Children get the best out of Ramadan!
This post is in: Ramadan and Fasting
During the month of Ramadan, as parents we should think about how we will enlighten our children and teach them about this sacred month. A lot of useful articles have been written on this topic Alhamdulilah. Below are links to some of these articles, which contain information on childrens activities, preparing for Ramadan, how to make Ramadan special etc.
- Ramadan Activities, Crafts & Lesson Plans - I love the yemenlinks website, she’s got great stuff on there, especially in her Arabic Resources section. She also has a wonderful blog: Educating the Muslim Child
- Ramadan Craft by UmmLayla (The Egyptian’s Wife) – As you can see sister UmmLayla is very creative and talented. She has created a beautiful Felt Ramadan Surprise Calendar and has given step by step detailed instructions on doing it yourself. And who can also forget her beautiful Date Chain she did last year and also gave the detailed instructions for. I look forward to her Ramadan craft every year!
- Mission Islam Ramadan Special - This page is full of articles and has a wonderful kids section at the bottom with lesson plans, word searches and all sorts of activities. I especially like the Ramadan bookmarks.
- Talibiddeen Jr.’s Ramadan Resources - A very attractive and organized website full of activities and different printables, great for very young kids too.
- Ourseeds Ramadan Activities - More ideas at this great homeschooling website.
- Ramadan at Crayola.com – Coloring and crafts
- Ramadan Activities from The Muslim Connection - This is a great website. I especially like the “Ramadan is…” storybook, and the Activites calendars for preschoolers and older children. I use them and they both have some very wonderful ideas. Definitely check this one out!
- Ramadan Fun Time by Modern Muslima - Great ideas for activities with smaller children, older children, family and friends, parties, iftar, decorations, and crafts. I love the idea of customized banners welcoming Ramadan and Eid.
- Ramadan Blessings Tree - There’s also the blessings tree I did last year with my kids.
- Ramadan at Play and Learn – Did I ever tell you how much I love and I mean LOVE the play and learn site? Great stuff on their for new muslims and kids. Lots of info on Ramadan.
- Holy Ramadan - There are no arts and crafts for kids here, but lots of info on the month of Ramadan and also supplications, etc…
